Is Your Health Food Really that Healthy for you?

I just kicked off my New Year's Resolution last week. I want to lose weight and get into better shape, not just for me, but for my daughter Ella. I have exercised every day and have joined Weight Watchers in an attempt to eat better.

They say food is 80% of the equation but what if the healthy foods you've turned to aren't so healthy?  Take Kale for instance. It seems to be the latest "it" food but according to experts it has a compound in it called thiocyanate. In high amounts it can cause hypothyroidism. That means eating too much Kale when trying to lose weight can actually LOWER your metabolism…..what???

There are other foods on the list including Quinoa, Avocados and Salmon. Check out the full story here. It's from Cosmopolitan so beware the language…..but you'll get the point 🙂

It's not to say that these foods don't have benefits, but they also have some big downsides…..just like most everything else! Moderation seems to be the key.

On the other side of the table three are some food that are thought to be bad but actually can be very good for you, including pizza! Check this out as well 🙂
