Empire Asparagus Festival

Lots of fun celebrating spring's most popular vegetable. There's a pig roast and dance Friday night, a 5k walk/run on Saturday, along with an asparagus cooking contest, parade, beer tasting and more! Saturday, May 21st
Three new community trails geared toward families with young children will open Saturday throughout Charlevoix County. Built by members of the Leadership Charlevoix County program in partnership with Char-Em United Way, the trails are aimed at pre-K age children. The Charlevoix trail will open at 10:30 a.m. at Shanahan Field, with similar opening ceremonies to follow at 12:30 p.m. in Boyne City's Rotary Park and 2:30 p.m. at East Jordan Elementary School in East Jordan.
