Life can sometimes get really stressful. This time of the year we start thinking of back-to-school, colder weather, and the always stressful holiday season. So with that said, have you ever just lost it on someone? Maybe it was your kids, your husband, or even a co-worker. We have all reacted without thinking and it doesn't usually end well.
There's a new trend called "mindful meditation" and it's taken off recently, but a lot of people aren't sure what mindfulness even means. Basically it's all about being more aware of how you feel and act in the moment, so you don't just "react" without thinking. Sounds pretty cool right?
So now you might be thinking- I'm not going to site on the floor with my legs crossed and meditate…there's no way I can do it. With mindful meditation, you're just focusing on your breathing for a few seconds. It helps you relax and take a moment before you react. There are apps that can get you started like Headspace and you'll gain at least four benefits from mindfulness that are all backed up by science including helping your relationship and your health.
