Swing dancing and spooky fun, plus 2 fall favorites!

This weekend I'll be judging another edition of Swingshift and the Stars and I'd love to see you there! There's a classic scary movie showing in Acme, and a splash of spooky fun in Charlevoix. You can carve out some fun time with the family this weekend in Glen Arbor, and catch a movie or two in Frankfort!

Swingshift and the Stars
October 21st, 7pm
Attendees will be entertained by star couple dances, accompanied by the 10-piece swing band, "Swing Shift" featuring Judy Harrison. There will also be dance lessons and a chance to hit the floor! Plus, vote for your favorite couple with a donation to their charity. Tickets are starts at $25 for general admission, and will be 5$ more at the door. Learn more at cityoperahouse.org.
 
Nosferatu at the Music House Museum
October 21st and 22nd, 5:30pm
The vampire classic, which is the first film version of Bram Stoker's "Dracula" will be shown with accompaniment on the Wurlitzer Organ by Andrew Rogers. Spook Swim at the Charlevoix Area Community Pool
October 21st, 6-8pm
Enjoy spooky music and decorations on the Pool deck, and be entertained with floating pumpkins in the water! Swim, eat pizza, sip on refreshments and grab a goody bag all for just $5 for students and $6 for adults (swimmers and non-swimmers). Children 5 and under are free! Pumpkin Festival in Glen Arbor
October 22nd, 1-6:30pm
Come out and receive a pumpkin, then spend the afternoon carving your masterpiece! All pumpkins will be placed along M-22 with a "grand lighting" at 6:30. Events throughout the day include a costume parade for kids and pets at 1:30, live music from Jack Pine, face painting and games and prizes for kids. This event is free and open to all ages. Frankfort Film Festival
October 20-23rd
The historical and restored Garden Theater in Frankfort is the place to be on the third weekend of October. This film-lovers festival features leading edge independent films from prestigious film festivals throughout the world.
