Do you have a tech obsession???

It’s a beautiful day today. The sun is shining and it’s warm enough to keep your coat on the hook. The perfect day to breathe in some fresh air and take a walk. But how many of us will put that off because we are busy on our phones and tablets? Probably a lot. In fact some people believe they have an actual addiction to their tech devices. Are you one of them? Well according to a psychologist, it’s not an addiction, but it’s an obsession. That being said, it doesn’t get you off the hook! In fact a tech obsession is pretty serious. Do you have to check your phone frequently? And if you don’t do you get stressed out? That’s the obsession. Your brain gets a build up of anxiety when you aren’t on or near your technology and the only way to get rid of that anxiety is to give in. It’s like candy for the brain and it’s a big deal for teens and adults.  Your obsession is taking you away from what’s important- a beautiful day, your family, your health etc. So what can we do to get over this obsession we have?  There are a few strategies here. One of them I think is genius. Keep a phone log. It sounds so corny to say it but if you’ve ever kept a food log or journal you know it works. When you write down everything you eat you realize exactly why you are overweight or not losing weight. It’s the same for your phone. Once you begin writing down how often and how much you are using your devices, you will see the obsession and you can work on breaking it!
