Better Sleep is just a crack away!

Sleep has always been the thing that eludes me. I'm constantly trying to find new ways to get a better night's sleep. From lavender oil in my diffuser, to a new bite splint to stop teeth grinding, I will go to any lengths to improve my sleep. Better sleep leads to better health, both physical and mental, so we should all be striving for that same goal.

If you're like me and you struggle to get a good night's sleep and wake up feeling tired and unrested……the key could be a crack away a new study suggests. Researchers used high-tech methods to track the nighttime movements of volunteers over 5 nights. Some of the participants slept with a bedroom door or window open, allowing for better ventilation, while others did not. The result: The better-ventilated rooms had lower levels of carbon dioxide in the air (humans breathe out CO2 naturally) and that seemed tied to better sleep. “Lower carbon dioxide levels [in the bedroom] implied better sleep depth, sleep efficiency, and lesser number of awakenings,” said the study author. “”This study does remind us that all bedrooms are not equal, and the quality of our sleep is certainly influenced by physical properties of our surroundings at night.”
