Winter festivals, Snowshoeing and Storytime!

This weekend finds frozen fun on the Old Mission Peninsula, where they are celebrating the Ice Wine harvest! Bring the kids to the Castle in Charlevoix Saturday for a special wintry storytime. You can take a snowshoe tour of Suttons Bay area wineries, or stroll around town to check out Yeti Fest! And Camp Daggett hosts their annual torchlight snowshoe event on Saturday night. Get out and have some fun!

Ice Wine Harvest Festival
Friday January 26th-Sunday January 28th, Chateau Chantal, Old Mission Peninsula
Events include snowman building, ice bowling, ice sculpting and more. Warm up at the fire pit with roasted treats, and hit the winery's walking trail for snowshoeing of skiing with a scavenger hunt for prizes. There will also be a multi-course Ice Wine education dinner on Saturday which includes a tour of the cellar and winemaking process. Snowman Story Time at Castle Farms
Saturday, January 27th, 10am to Noon
Children can enjoy hot cocoa, winter stories, snowman making and crafts, treats and the interactive train exhibit. Admission is just $5 per person. For ages 3 and up. Get details at castlefarms.com/events/snowman-story-time

Vine to Wine Snowshoe Tour
Saturday, January 27th, 10:30am-4pm
Participants on each tour will visit Big Little Wines, Ciccone Vineyards & Winery, Suttons Bay Ciders and L. Mawby Winery, with stops along the way for wine, and a chili and soup lunch. The hike is about 2.5 miles on rolling terrain. Reservations are $45 per person or $60 with snowshoe rental. Sing up in advance at grandtraversebiketours.com

Yeti Fest
Saturday, January 27th, Suttons Bay

Bearcub Outfitters Torchlight Snowshoe Outing
Saturday, January 27th, 5-9pm, Camp Daggett, Petoskey
Enjoy snow-covered trails lit by more than 100 torches, then warm up by the fire in the lodge with hot cocoa and cookies afterwards. This event is free and snowshoes are available. Learn more at campdaggett.org
