Summer is almost here which for us means hitting the road for camping excursions, trips to the beach, walks with our dogs, bike riding and family cookouts. It also means lots of bugs, including ticks. I’ll be honest with you, I haven’t really been super worried about ticks. I get my dogs treated every year and we keep an eye on our daughter. That all changes this year though…..as experts warn about a new “tick explosion” coming this summer. There are several varieties of ticks, and it’s not just that they are annoying, but they carry many diseases- the most known being Lyme disease. Lyme disease affects about 30,000 people per year, and although it’s not known how many of those are children, when it comes to the kiddos, it’s most common in those aged 5-10.
As scary as this can be, it’s also pretty simple to protect your family from these annoying pests. Check out more here.
