From the sounds and flavors of the bayou, to Gibby’s fries and a spin on the midway, what’s your flavor of fun for the weekend?

This weekend you can watch some of the best riders in the country compete for cash prizes in Williamsburg, enjoy a cajun-themed party for a cause in Beulah, or browse through the past in Petoskey. The National Cherry Festival wraps up with a bang on Saturday night, or you can enjoy a quieter evening under the stars with great stories and music outside of Elk Rapids.
 
Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, July 4-August 12th, Flintfields Horse Park, Williamsburg

Bayou in the Barn, Friday, July 6th, 5-11:30pm, St. Ambrose Cellars, Beulah
Come enjoy a night of live music by the Billy Davis Duo featuring Wayne Craycraft, Kathy Guillen and the Girls, K Jones and the Benzie Playboys and many others, while enjoying delicious cajun specialties from area food vendors. Cherry Festival Grand Finale Day!, Saturday, July 7th
This is your last chance for Gibby’s fries, a spin at the carnival, and lots more! There’s the Grand Parade starting at 1, the finals of the Cherry Idol contest at 2pm at the Open Space, Darcy Lynn & Friends on the Bayside Entertainment stage starting at 6pm, and of course, the big Fireworks Finale over West Grand Traverse Bay at 10:30. Stone Circle Gathering, Saturdays through September 1st, 9pm, Stone Circle Amphitheater
Poet and bard Terry Wooten hosts this gathering around a bonfire, filled with storytelling, songs and more, Located 10 miles north of Elk Rapids off US 31. Turn right on Stone Circle Drive and follow the signs. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Call 231-264-9467 for more information.
