The 43rd Annual Northern Michigan Regional Home Show is being hosted at North Central Michigan College, Petoskey, on Friday, March 8th, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 9th, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event features more than 70 exhibitors showcasing home improvement products and services, energy-efficient systems, designers, and the latest ideas in home remodeling. This is a family-friendly event with children’s activities. Admission $5 for adults and free for children 17 and under.
Shanty Creek Slush Cup, March 9, 9-4pm This has been one of Michigan’s most popular winter events for over 40 years. Watch the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat as skiers and riders attempt to cross an icy 60′ pond. Some take it to another level with crazy costumes. Other events include a frozen fish toss, snow shovel racing and a seal slide-—all part of the traditional wild and crazy weekend.
Boyne Highlands Brewski, Sat. March 9, noon-5pm Bring together snow, craft beers, and entertainment. Hit the slopes and join your friends at the snow bars for more than 285 brews from around the world. The frothy samples will be served up while you enjoy live music by Jelly Roll Blues Band and Happy’s Tacos food truck and Detroit Frankie’s Wood Fired Brick Oven. Must be 21+ to enter. $2 for each four ounce sample. $10 cover charge.
