Fall is here…you can tell by the chill in the air, and the Harvest moon in the night sky. You can enjoy stories about that moon this Thursday night in Harbor Springs. Thursday also kicks off a month of special tours at the Old State Hospital grounds in Traverse City. You can grab great fall deals and crisp apples in Downtown TC this Saturday, or get registered to vote in Charlevoix. Then, wrap up the evening with a trip to the drive-in in Williamsburg!
 
Mysteries of the Harvest Moon
Thursday, October 1st, 7-9pm, Offield Family Viewlands
Night Sky Story Telling with Mary Steward Adams. The Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that occurs closest to the Autumn Equinox. Mary will share tales of harvest traditions associated with this moon in what is sure to be an interesting evening for the whole family! Get more info here.
 
Asylum After Dark
October 1st through the 31st, 7:30-10:40pm
Experience a night at the Northern Michigan Asylum. Explore one of our most popular cottages from attic to basement, then enjoy a bonfire after your experience and take home an exclusive piece of asylum history. Each 30 minute tour includes an exclusive map and $5 off Village merchandise. $45 per person or $80 per couple (ages 18 and over only; ID is required). Fall Sale and Happy Apple Days
Saturday, October 3rd
The streetscapes of downtown Traverse City will be bustling with great sales and delicious apples! Merchants will have bushels of local apples to share with their customers for Happy Apple Days and Downtown’s Annual Fall Sale will take place, as usual, on the first Saturday of the month.
 
Voter Registration Rally
Saturday, October 3rd, 11-1, East Park, Charlevoix
A non-partisan rally, with the goal of registering, informing, and encouraging young voters, sponsored by Youth Vote MI. League of Women Voters volunteers will help register voters on the spot. Volunteers from the League will provide voter information on polling places and other voter information. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
 
Drive-In Movie at Flintfields Horse Park
Saturday, October 3rd, Gates open 5pm, Movie at Dusk
Come enjoy a drive-in movie at the Flintfields Horse Park. This one-night only event is absolutely free, but donations will be accepted. Pack the whole family in the car and catch a showing of “Grease” at dusk! Get details here.
