The new season of the National Writers Series kicks off online this week…You can enjoy a magical walk in the woods at Boyne Highlands, and learn more about what happened in the 2020 election with an online seminar hosted by NCMC. The Traverse Area District Library gives you a chance to plan and share your visions for the coming year, and the State Theater is offering great new movies online!
 
National Writers Series online with Dwight Garner

The Enchanted Trail at Boyne Highlands
Thursday, Friday and Saturday in  January and February
The Enchanted Trail is a magical two mile roundtrip walk through the woods, illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights. The highlight of the evening is a stop at a rustic yurt to enjoy s’mores, a bonfire, and warm drinks. Tickets are $15 or $40 for a family. Learn more and get tickets at boynehighlands.com
 
Election 2020-What Happened? 
Friday, Jan 15, noon-1pm, online
Scott T. LaDeur, Ph.D., professor of political science at North Central Michigan College, will offer a detailed analysis of the November 2020 general election, both nationally and locally.  Emmet County Clerk Suzanne Kanine will talk about the election process she oversaw in our community. What does your 2021 look like? After 2020, we could all use a little inspiration. This is where scrapbooking meets Pinterest. Pick up your free kit at the Traverse Area District Library from our curbside services beginning the week of January 4th and join in on the fun!
