There are so many ways to get out of the house and enjoy the fresh snow this weekend…enjoy an evening walk through Boyne Highlands accented with twinkling lights, a candle-lit stroll at Mount McSauba, or an exiting dogsled ride at Shanty Creek! Or, how about a snowshoe trek complimented with adult beverages along the way on the Old Mission Peninsula? Or, maybe you want to stay in and pen the next great novel…you could get help with that too, with a little help from the National Writers Series.
The Enchanted Trail at Boyne Highlands
Thursdays through Sundays throughout February
The Enchanted Trail is a magical and relaxing two mile roundtrip walk along a beautifully lit winter trail. Halfway along your trek, you’ll stop at a rustic yurt for s’mores and hot drinks around a bonfire. Tickets are $15 or $40 for a family. Learn more at boynehighlands.com
Mt McSauba Winter Candlelight Hikes
Fridays, 5pm-8pm thru the end of February
Mt McSauba in Charlevoix has a great way to end the week with a candle light hike or snowshoe on the wooded trails. This is a family friendly free event. The trail is approximately a mile long and will change each week.
Dog Sled Rides at Shanty Creek
Fridays thru March
Rides leave the Nordic Center every 30 minutes. Bring your own blankets to cover up with due to COVID. They will also be sanitizing the sled between riders, which gives you time to meet the dogs! Face masks are required. To schedule your dog sled ride, please call (866) 695-5010.
Old Mission Snowshoe, Wine and Brew
Sundays through March 6th, 10:50am-3pm
Grab your snowshoes, or rent a pair, and hop on the Brew Bus at Jolly Pumpkin to begin your journey. You’ll enjoy stops and refreshments along the way at Brys Estate and Bowers harbor Vineyards, before it’s back to Jolly Pumpkin to wrap up your afternoon. Tickets are $28 per person at tcbrewbus.com.
