You can hit the trails this Saturday at Timber Ridge Resort or Crystal Mountain. The little ones can enjoy a musical “petting zoo” at the Petoskey District Library, and the adults can catch a Cajun-themed concert at the Crooked Tree Arts Center Saturday night. Then on Sunday, spice up your afternoon with tacos and live jazz!
Winter Trails Day at Timber Ridge Resort, Saturday, January 8th, 10:30a-2pm
Free trail access, introductory ski lessons, fatbike demos, guided snowshoe hikes, & use of equipment rentals for those new to winter trail sports. Free cookies & cocoa will be served in the lodge. Register at traversetrails.org/event/wintertrailsday/
 
“Little Waves” Young Children’s Library Series, Saturday, January 8th, 10:30am, Petoskey District Library
For ages 4-10. Featuring interactive activities with Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra musicians. This year’s theme is “My Favorite Musical Instrument,” with this month featuring woodwinds. This is a free activity! Learn more at www.petoskeylibrary.org/

Third Coast Swing at the Crooked Tree Arts Center, Petoskey, Saturday, January 8th, 7:30pm
Influenced by the music of guitarist & composer Django Reinhardt, Third Coast Swing specializes in gypsy swing, gypsy bossa, bolero, French musette & more. Sunday Afternoon Jazz at the Circuit in Traverse City, Sunday, January 9th, 3pm
