Sledding, Snowshoeing, and New Years Celebrations!

LOTR Fans have a big day at the State Theatre this Friday…or if you’re looking to get outside, hit the sledding hills at Pond Hill Farm, or the snowshoe trails at Blackstar Farms! You can ring in the New Year early at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, or celebrate at Midnight on Front Street in Traverse City!
 
Lord of the Rings Directors Cut Marathon at the State Theatre, TC, Friday, December 30^th, Noon
See the director cut of all three Lord of the Rings movies in one sitting!  Sandwiches will be sold between shows to help you get to Mordor. Tickets and more info at stateandbijou.org
 
Sledding and Pizza Party at Pond Hill Farm, Harbor Springs, Through December 31^st, Noon
Enjoy free trails & sledding, a bonfire, a gnome house hunt, animals, & more. Homemade pizza, hot cocoa, beer & wine are also available for purchase. Sign in at the market before heading out. Sleds will be available to use, but you can also bring your own. No wood or metal.
 
Snowshoes, Vines and Wines, Through December 30^th, Black Star Farms, Suttons Bay
Explore easy to moderate trails & then warm up on the heated Terrace Patio & Hearth & Vine Café with wine & snacks. Onsite snowshoe rentals are available from noon – 4pm. Additional dates include: Jan.15 & Feb. 19, 2023.
 
New Years Eve at the Crooked Tree Arts Center, Petoskey, Saturday, December 31^st, 5-9pm
So much fun to ring in the New Year, and you don’t even have to stay up late! Live music, art workshops, magic shows, a pizza dinner and more, all leading up to the Midnight at 9 Ball drop on East Mitchell Street. Get tickets and more info at crookedtree.org.
 
Cherry-T Ball Drop in Traverse City, Saturday, December 31^st
Gather on Front Street to ring in 2023 with a giant glowing cherry descending onto Front Street followed by fireworks! The party begins at 10 pm and ends just after the New Year! Your $5 admission donation helps support local charities. Get details at cherrytballdrop.org
