Start your weekend early with a free show Thursday evening in TC…then do a little stargazing Friday night at Sleeping Bear Dunes! You can be a part of a film premiere at the City Opera House, then enjoy a delicious day down by the water in Harbor Springs! And on Sunday, take a stroll through Traverse City’s Central Neighborhoods for free concerts around every corner!

Concerts on the Lawn at GT Pavilions
Thursday, September 14th, 7pm, GT Pavilions Grand Lawn, TC
If you have been meaning to catch one of these free shows, it’s the last one of the season-and they are going out in fine style, with a performance by local favorite Judy Harrison and Re-Booted. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the show! There will also be concessions on site.
 
Star Party at Sleeping Bear Dunes
Friday, September 15th, 5-11pm, Dune Climb, Empire
Please park in the row furthest from the dunes with your headlights facing M-109. Drop-in telescope & info stations will be available for you to visit. Programs will be cancelled if the sky is not visible due to weather conditions. Get more info here.

“Troubled Water” Film Premiere at the City Opera House
Friday, September 15th, City Opera House, Traverse City
An adventure/conservation documentary that follows Chris Yahanda & William Wright as they attempt a 36-day, 425-mile standup paddleboard journey from Mackinac Island to Lansing. Tickets are $13. A cash bar reception is at 6:30 and the film is at 7:30. Learn more at cityoperahouse.org

28th Annual Taste of Harbor Springs
Saturday, September 16th, Noon-3pm, Harbor Springs Waterfront

TC Porchfest
Sunday, September 17th, 1-5pm, TC Central Neighborhood
It’s a day full of free, live local music, hosted by the Traverse City Central Neighborhood Association. Area musicians will be playing on porches throughout the neighborhood, from 5th Street to 13th Street. More info online at tcporchfest.org.
