From drones to making cheese, lot’s to do this weekend.

We have snow! And no matter whether to love to get out and enjoy it or you prefer finding some indoor fun, there are plenty of ways to make this weekend one to remember.

Boyne Mountain is celebrating their 75th anniversary Saturday night with an incredible drone show. Image hundreds of drones, over the ski hills creating designs and patterns to amaze. The show starts at 9:30 and is free.  Learn more at BoyneMountain.com

Have you ever wanted to learn to make cheese? Sunday at 5pm, you can at Black Star Farms Winery. Learn the art of hand-stretched mozzarella! The skilled cheesemakers from Leelanau Cheese will demonstrate how to craft this satisfying fresh cheese from local milk and a handful of basic ingredients. The secrets of this gastronomical wonder will unfold as you learn to hand stretch curd and form bocconcini, string cheese, and delicate burrata. After class, taste your mozzarella two ways: fresh with extra virgin olive oil and seasonal condiments and baked on a Neapolitan-style Margherita pizza from our wood-fired oven. In addition to the mozzarella you make in class, you’ll take home a rock-solid, repeatable recipe for home production. Tickets include one glass of wine. More wine may be purchased onsite for an additional cost. Get tickets at MyNorthTickets.com

Get involved an a friendly game of Euchre or two at Brewery Terra Firma in Traverse City. Euchre Sundays are a great way to play Euchre, meet new people, and enjoy a few pints. Free to play. Gift cards for the winners. Beginners & single players welcome. Brewery Terra Firma is located at 2959 Hartman Road.

Now that we have snow, enjoy Sledding and S’Mores Saturday from 4-6pm at Kiwanis Park in Harbor Springs. You can sled, enjoy food, hot chocolate and s’mores around the  bonfire. And the best part? The Harbor Springs fire department will take you back up the hill for another ride!

And if you’d like some culture this weekend, the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra presents Reperio, Sunday at 4pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Boyne City. The free public recital is part of GLCO’s Sunday Series, which features small orchestra ensembles performing in churches around Northern Michigan.
