The Highlands 60th Anniversary Celebration is this weekend. And they are doing something pretty unique. You can immerse yourself in the magic of a Slopeside European Market, a special celebration to commemorate The Highlands’ 60th Anniversary. This enchanting winter market combines the allure of vintage romance and the cozy charm of a European-inspired market. Step into a winter wonderland; from strolling through a market to enjoying the warmth of fire pits sipping mulled wine, you will find something to do for everyone.
As Saturday evening draws to a close, they’ll light up the night with an anniversary fireworks display.

If you like to ride your sled, it’s time for the 59th annual Moose Jaw Safari snowmobile ride. The ride leaves the Groomer Barn (3151 Kernow Lane, Harbor Springs) at 10am sharp! Then you can make the 30 mile trip to the Bean Pot located at Center Township Hall (981 W Van Rd, Pellston), making 3-4 stops along the way.
There is NO snowmobile registration or trail permits required for this event. Can’t make the ride? Stop out at the Bean Pot, the soup & hot dogs will be ready at noon!
Wine and Soup? It’s the perfect combination. The Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail is bringing back an old favorite…the much-loved Sips & Soups winter wine event! Sips & Soups will be back for two incredible days, on Saturday January 20th & Sunday January 21st. Tickets are on sale now – for just $30, attendees will receive a 1.5oz pour of selected wine paired with 3oz of warm and delectable soup from each of the participating wineries!

The winter market at the Villages of Grand Traverse is a great way to stock up on things to make you feel homey and cozy. The market is in The Mercato corridor on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. Over 30 vendors offering a variety of delicious items from farm fresh eggs, meats and cheeses, to fruits, veggies, homemade breads and more!
If you want to get out and enjoy the snow, and even try something new… Saturday is Winter Trail Days on the TART Trail. TART Trails is teaming up with TC Trimdown, Vasa Ski
Club, Brick Wheels, Northern Michigan Mountain Bike Association (NMMBA),
Suttons Bay Bikes and Timber Ridge Resort to offer FREE trail access, and
FREE fat tire bike, cross country ski and snowshoe demos!
TART Trails’ volunteers and members of the Vasa Ski Club will provide free
introductory ski lessons, TART volunteers will lead snowshoe hikes and NMMBA
volunteers will provide fat tire bike demos.
Winter Trails Day offers folks of all ages and abilities the opportunity to
try a new winter activity FREE and to discover the benefits that outdoor
winter trail activities provide. Anyone interested in participating in the fun, free day on the trails must register online in advance before 3 pm on Friday, January 19 or in person
starting at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 20. Register here.
