It’s also Restaurant Week in Traverse City. Kicking off Sunday the 25th thru Saturday, March 2nd… get ready for an unforgettable dining experience. One last chance to snowshoe Camp Daggett is this Saturday evening. Bearcub Outfitters Torchlit Snowshoe is from 5-8pm. Enjoy Camp Daggett in a peaceful, torchlit winter setting and the serene ambiance of trekking across snow-covered trails illuminated by more than 100 torches. Make sure you dress warmly and get ready to have fun! Don’t own snowshoes? Bearcub Outfitters will have plenty available for community members of all ages to borrow. After your torchlit snowshoe, enjoy cocoa, cookies, and roaring fires! We will be selling raffle tickets for GREAT prizes – all proceeds and donations directly support Camp Daggett.
It’s time for the annual Guns N Hoses charity hockey game, Saturday night, 6pm at Centre Ice Arena in TC. The police team will face-off against the firefighters in this always fun event.
This year, they are playing for Kelly Florip of Cedar. She had triple positive breast cancer and just recently found the cancer has spread. Grand Traverse Guns N Hoses is proud to stand in the fight with Kelly and her family for their 11th annual game! This event cannot happen without the large outpouring support of our generous community. Tickets available at the door.
If you are in the mood for some music, check out the 14th Annual Great Indoors Folk Festival on Sunday, Feb 25, in Traverse City! The Festival will be held from noon to 5:30 p.m. in the Mercado corridor of Building 50, along with Kirkbride Hall, “Left Foot Charley”, and “Higher Grounds” at Grand Traverse Commons. It’s a free, family-oriented event spread out on 8 stages and a great way to chase those winter blues away.
And there is also great music Sunday, 7pm at the Cheboygan Opera House. For the third year in a row, it’s The British Are Coming, a show featuring area talent to chase away the winter blues and benefit the Opera House. This has quickly become one of the most anticipated events of the year and you don’t want to miss it!
You’ll hear some of the biggest British Invasion hits, from such bands as the Beatles, the Kinks, and the Who. You’ll recognize some of your favorite local musicians, coming together on the big stage of the Opera House in this singular event: Evan Archambo, Lori Cleland, Ben Dratnol, Will Engleman, Kyle Frazier, John Gravlin, David Jacalone, Brian Lange, Brooklyn LaRocque, Brett Mallory, Mark Stormzand, Tim Whitmore.
Ticket sales for this concert will go to support kids programming at the Opera House.
