Easter Weekend Fun

1000x563-test

It’s Easter Weekend and the end of spring break. Time to enjoy family and welcome in the new season where green grass, flowers and singing birds will grace us once again.

One place for kids to have a great time and just be kids is in Harbor Springs on Saturday. Starting at 11am is an Easter Egg Hunt in Zorn Park. The hunt is free and the Easter Bunny will be there to oversee all the eggs.  And after the Easter Egg Hunt, the annual Bowling on Main Street kicks off at noon. Kids can bowl on Main Street (by Johan’s) and win fun prizes. There will be free hot chocolate and donuts from Johans, free books and the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society will be there with dogs to love on. This event is free also.

There is a new inflatable planetarium dome at the Sleeping Bear National Lakes Shore and this weekend, you can try it out. Join rangers for a unique and immersive experience at Sleeping Bear Dunes, where visitors of all ages can engage with an un-obstructive view of the night sky in the comfort of this new inflatable dome.

Visitors can arrive any time between the hours listed.

Wednesday, March 27: 2 pm-7 pm

Friday, March 29: 10 am-1 pm, 4 pm-8 pm

Tiffany at Yoga Roots in Petoskey is launching an event for the community on Friday evening at 6pm. The people have spoken and they want a game night with their friends! Yoga Roots will provide plates, cutlery, napkins, tables for games and snacks. We’ll play Uno, Spoons and Rumis. If you have a game you want to play, please bring it to share. If you can, bring a dish to pass please. But if you aren’t able to make food, join in anyway, there is always enough. Your presence is the most important thing.

And if you’d like to try roller skating again, the Traverse City Roller Derby is having an open skate on Saturday from 6-8pm at the Grand Traverse Civic Center. Bring your own skates or they have a limited number of pairs to rent. Admission is $5.
