Baseball to the Prince Tribute, it’s the weekend!

weekend-fun-5-summer

One great thing about being Up North during the summer season is there is so much to do… and something for everyone. And this weekend is no exception.

The Traverse City Pit Spitters are great entertainment and easy on the budget. Tickets are only $14 (kids under 2 are free) and the perfect way to spend an afternoon or evening with family or friends. They play this weekend on Friday and Saturday evening against the Kenosha Kingfish. Friday night is Ag Night with fireworks after the game and Saturday features everyone’s favorite dogs… Bluey and Bingo.  Tickets at https://northwoodsleague.com/traverse-city-pit-spitters/

If you love old boats, stop by the Elk Rapids Marina on Saturday for the Antique, Classic and Wooden Boat Show. The show runs from 10am-3pm and will feature boats from many generations. And when you’re done admiring the boats, move over to River Street and check out the Spring Car and Truck Show from 11-1pm.

A summer favorite returns in Boyne City with the first Stroll The Streets, Friday from 6-9pm. Enjoy music, shop and grab dinner throughout the downtown Boyne City area.

If you’re looking to expand your gardens, the Northern Michigan Master Gardeners are having a plant sale Saturday from 9-1pm at the Emmet County Fair Grounds. This is the perfect place to pick up healthy, native plants and talk to experienced gardeners with all your questions.

If you’re a Prince fan, there is a tremendous tribute show Friday night, 8pm at the Leelanau Sands Casino. Gabriel Sanchez has been portraying Prince in his critically acclaimed show The Prince Experience for over 20 years.  What started off as Gabriel portraying Prince in a local theatre production of Purple Rain, has expanded into a full-blown loving tribute to Prince. The Prince Experience puts on a show of unbelievable entertainment. Get tickets at MyNorthTickets.com
