From the Blue Angels to a summer art show, you’ll find something you love this weekend.

Summer fun really takes off this weekend! The National Cherry Festival starts on Saturday and there is fun all over Traverse City. You’ll also find art fairs, a winery celebration and a great nature event for the whole family. Have a great weekend, no matter what you love to do.

The National Cherry Festival kicks off on Saturday with one of the most amazing events of the festival, the Blue Angels. It’s one of the most thrilling air shows you’ll ever see. The show takes place over the West Bay in TC starting at 1pm both Saturday and Sunday.

 It’s an annual tradition, the Charlevoix Summer Art Show is Saturday June 29th and Sunday June 30th in East Park. You’ll find a mix of art and crafts displayed on the shores of scenic Round Lake in downtown Charlevoix. Participating artists are carefully selected to ensure a well-rounded show with many fun and unique items on display. Hours for the show are 10-5 on Saturday, 10-3 on Sunday.

While you’re checking out the art show, the kids can enjoy a great movie at the Charlevoix Cinema on Saturday. HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON – part of the FREE Summer Film Series and Food Drives in partnership with Charlevoix Veterinary Hospital. Doors open at 10:00am. Concessions available for purchase. Bring a canned or dry good to donate to Charlevoix Rayder Den.

The Michigan wine industry has grown so fast and one of the pioneers is Mackinaw Trail Winery. They are celebrating their 20th anniversary on Saturday and you’re invited for a fabulous day of live music, mouthwatering food trucks, irresistible drink specials, and fantastic giveaways!  Sit back and enjoy drink specials on wine, beer, and hard cider while listening to live music throughout the day!  Once your full and have a glass of your favorite Mackinaw Trail beverage, join the Cornhole Tournament, Axe Throwing, and maybe even special sampling from some of Mackinaw Trails retired wines! The event runs noon til 9pm.

And a fun event for the entire family is going on in Gaylord on Saturday. The Art in the Garden Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration of natural resources through art and education. Enjoy a day in the community gardens listening to live music, meeting local artists and vendors, participating in workshops, and so much more. With activities for all ages there is something for the whole family to enjoy! The fun happens 10-5pm.
