The weather looks great this weekend, perfect for some of the best outdoor events of summer. From Elk Rapid’s Harbor Days to the Sutton’s Bay Art Fair, you’ll find things the whole family will love. There is a lot of music this weekend too including the Yacht Rock sensation Yachtly Crew and an Eagles tribute band at the Cheboygan Opera House. One of the iconic summer festivals is this weekend and weekend, Harbor Days in Elk Rapids. Not only can you enjoy all of the festival fun including the carnival, food, and family events… but there are some special nights you won’t want to miss. Kanin Wren’s Taylor Swift Experience on Thursday promises to be a lot of fun. Saturday is the big day with a dog parade, the Grand Parade and the best fireworks display Up North on Saturday night. Downtown Traverse City is the place to be on Friday. It’s the annual Street Sale where you’ll find great deals on all those things you’ve had your eye on all summer long. Then stick around for the first Friday Night Live with family fun including interactive games, food & beverage vendors, & a variety of entertainment. Shopping starts at 8am and Friday Night Live at 6pm.
It’s also a weekend for two great art fairs. The Sutton’s Bay Art Fair is in Marina Park both Saturday and Sunday. There are over 100 artists displaying their work, a used book sale from the library, food and a children’s area. And in East Jordan, it’s the Portside Art Fair. It’s all day Saturday at Elm Point Estate. This is a juried art fair with live entertainment all day. Onsite historical museum, snacks, lunch & more. Come by boat or car, parking is free.
If you love Yacht Rock, don’t miss Yachtly Crew Sunday night at Great Lakes Center for the Arts. Yachtley Crew is the nations #1 Yacht Rock band playing all the best soft rock hits from the Late 70’s and early 80’s. Yachtley Crew is a Los Angeles area based band of talented and tenured musicians with a common set of goals: to entertain music lovers with some of the greatest songs ever written back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, and to have as much fun as possible while performing those hits.
