When Poppy showed up at a feral feeding station, we could see that she’s a little lady with a big personality. She is a curious, playful, very smart, vocal cat who makes a variety of chirps and noises to let you know her wants and opinions. She LOVES to be with people, comes when called, and is tolerant of being held. Though Poppy is still a bit of a busy kitten, she’ll be a lap cat when she matures. She has been around male cats in her foster home and does OK after a proper introduction, but she doesn’t love them. She would be happy as an only cat, or with another passive, less active cat who lets her be the boss! we don’t know how she would be with dogs. Like most cats, he does not appreciate car rides but is very polite at the vet. She would do best with respectful older children.

TC Paw Cat Rescue was formed in the Spring of 2023 after the well-known northern Michigan rescue group AC PAW retired their rescue program for cats and dogs. Their mission is helping cats and kittens in the greater Traverse City region through rescue, spay/neuter, fostering, adoption, education and community collaboration.

Meet King, a handsome and energetic guy ready to find his furever home! King came to us as a transfer from another shelter. He really loves to play, so a big yard would be perfect for him. King does well with cats but is a bit cautious around other dogs. He’d thrive in a home with older kids (12+), who can match his energy. If King sounds like the perfect fit, fill out an adoption application online or at the shelter today!

Hut, Hut, Hike! Oops! Sorry, I thought I was back in the game! My name and my game are one and the same. They call me Wide Receiver because I tried out for that position on the Lions, but I didn’t make the team. Why? Because I’m a GIRL! Can you believe that?! Me either! But that’s okay—I need to slow down and focus on finding my future family.
I’m a 2-year-old, spayed female weighing in at about 100 lbs, with a heart just as big as my body. I’m usually a super chill, happy, and gentle lady. But I’ll warn you—I’m a total foodie, and treats get me very excited! I walk well on a leash, though if I catch a whiff of something interesting, I’m in a hurry to check it out with you. I love a good belly rub, being close for pets, and giving kisses. While I adore humans, I take my time warming up to other dogs, and I’m not quite sure about those things that meow. With proper introductions and some patience, though, I might just come around to the idea of fur siblings.
When I’m not practicing for next year’s team, you can catch me at the shelter Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM to 6 PM. For more information about me please call the shelter at (989) 348-4117, or email AVASCares2@gmail.com.
Can’t wait to catch a game (or a treat!) with you!

Cuddles is a 6 year old medium hair girl. Cuddles has quite the friendly personality. Cuddles seems to like kids more than adults and is very comfortable with them. Cuddles also came from a home with small dogs so she is accustomed to them as well. Cuddles loves nap time, exploring her areas, wandering and interacting with other cats as well as people. We’re not sure how Cuddles would do around larger dogs but with a proper adjustment and introduction, she would likely do just fine. Cuddles is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines.
Cuddle’s adoption fee is $50
