From Mackinac Island, to Old Town, it’s a busy weekend out there!

The annual Mackinac Island Lilac Festival wraps up this weekend, plus it’s a great time to do a little fishing! You can see beautiful wooden boats on display in Elk Rapids on Saturday, or check out 2 great craft shows in TC, one in Old Town and one at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons!
 
71st Annual Mackinac Island Lilac Festival, Through Sunday, June 13                                                                                          The lilacs are in bloom and it’s a great weekend to head to Mackinac Island! There are events all weekend long, wrapping up with the Lilac Festival Grand Parade on Sunday from 4-5pm. Learn more at mackinawcity.com
 Summer Free Fishing Weekend, June 12th and 13th                                                                                                                                                      Grab the kids, some bait and poles, and head to your nearest fishing hole! It’s Summer Free Fishing Weekend sponsored by the Michigan DNR. Fishing licenses are not required for fishing on June 12 and 13 although limits and all other game laws apply.
Elk Rapids Wooden Boat Show, Saturday, June 12th, 10am to 4pm, North end of Elk River in Elk Rapids                    Enjoy beautiful wooden boats, a wooden kayak display, Great Lakes Boat Building School display, artists in action, a beverage tent, picnic area, music and more. 
Outdoor Craft and Vendor Show at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons, Saturday, June 12th, 10am-3pm Come stroll under the sunshine and the quaint red spires of the historic buildings of Grand Traverse Commons this Saturday. More than 40 vendors will have goods on display and for sale. Admission is free!
Old Town Arts and Crafts Fair, Downtown Traverse City, Saturday, June 12th, 10am-5pm                                          Come hit the streets of Old Town to shop for unique gifts, home goods, apparel, art and more! Union Street will be blocked off for this event, with vendors set up along the sidewalks. It’s a perfect place to stop after hitting the Farmers Market just a few blocks away! Free admission.
