I have never been a water drinker. I don't know why but reaching for a cold glass of water just never sounds good. Sure a cold beer, a cold glass of coke, a cold flavored water, but not just plain old water.
Water is the most essential nutrient for life, but yet we all forget about it. New studies have even found that what you drink is as important for your health as what you eat, even though most people don't pay attention to the calories they are drinking.
So if I'm not craving it, how can I remember to drink more water? The answer may be in the reasons to drink more water….some of them have to do with weight loss. For instance drinking more water will slash your sugar intake. About half of all the sugars in our diet come from sugar sweetened beverages…..so if you replace just 1 12 oz soda with water each day, it will cut 65 cups of sugar from your diet in a year……65 cups???? Sign me up!
