Here we are again….approaching another year and thinking of all of things we would like to change or do. One of my resolutions every year is to lose weight. I start strong but by week 3 I've fallen off the wagon and indulged in something I shouldn't have.
If you feel that same way you are not alone. Only 13% of people who make a resolution actually stick to it for the full year. That is not a lot of people.
Whether it's something big like losing weight or quitting smoking or something easier like drinking more water- how do we make these resolutions stick? The first thing is to set a goal that is attainable. Instead of "I'm going to lose 10 lbs in 30 days" how about "I'm going to wear a size smaller by the end of the year".
Also setting an absolute like "I'm going to the gym 3 days per week" is setting yourself up for failure and failure is not the way to feel good.
So attainable goals that are not absolutes….what else?
Here are some other tips for making your resolutions stick in 2016! Good luck 🙂
