Have you ever watched curling on the Olympics and thought…. I’d love to see that in person sometime. This weekend, you can! The USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Championship is Feb 27-March 3 at the TC Curling Club on Garfield in Traverse City. The Mixed Doubles National Championship is aimed to determine the strongest mixed doubles team in the nation to advance to represent the United States at the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. As the sun warms the trees, it’s time to tap. Maple Sugaring Days will give you a look at just how that maple syrup makes it to your table. Saturday and Sunday from 10 am-3 pm you can experience the first-ever maple sugaring event at the Lakeshore. See the sugaring process through time at the Dechow and Olsen Farms in the Port Oneida Rural Historic District. There will be a guided hike, demonstrations, a visit to a historic sugar shack, kid’s activities, maple syrup sampling, and goodies to take home. The event is free with a park pass.
