Have you been thinking about adopting a dog? So many people gravitate toward puppies. We all know they are cute, it’s hard to find anything more adorable. But they are also a huge responsibility. They need a lot of attention and a lot of your time. From potty training to obedience training, a puppy needs your total commitment.
If that sounds daunting to you, there are other options. Adopt an adult dog. Or better yet, adopt a senior dog. November is Adopt a Senior Dog Month. So many senior dogs end up in shelters because their human let them down. And it is incredibly sad. Imagine losing your family late in life, they are afraid and depressed. They are overlooked in shelters because many times, they do not show well. And this is where you can step in.
Go to your shelter and ask about senior dogs. You will be surprised how many are available. And they best part is, they don’t want much except your love. You will find a loving companion and…. you will change the last years of that dog’s life into something wonderful. It’s an experience you’ll never regret.
