It’s that slow time of year, when you can kick back and enjoy some events that you might have missed before. Summer will be here before you know it, so take the time to do something relaxing!
It’s a fun tradition started years ago to celebrate the down time we all need. So grab the kids and make it a day in Harbor Springs at Bowling on Main Street, Saturday March 29, from noon until 2pm. Kids will be able to bowl on Main Street, get free hot chocolate and donuts from Johans and can win some fun prizes too. The Little Traverse Bay Humane Society will be there with adoptable pets too. It’s all free and fun.
If you love animals and would like to be a volunteer at the Little Traverse Bay Humane Shelter, they are having an Orientation Program on Friday night at 6pm. You can learn what opportunities are available, meet some great people and pets, and find a match for your interests. Questions? Call LTBHS at 231-347-2396 or email kjohnson@ltbhs.org. And sign up for the event at https://dash.pointapp.org/events/300003
Want to meet other people and share your craft skills? Stop by the Craft and Cider Afternoon at Resort Pike Cidery, Sunday from 2-4pm. Bring your knitting, crochet, hand embroidery, paper crafts, etc. Share your knowledge with other crafty folks and help build a crafting community. All they ask is no glitter please.
If you’re thinking about a home project, check out the Charlevoix Home Show Saturday and Sunday at The Castle. The show runs 11-4pm and you’ll be able to see what’s new and talk to vendors. Let the idea flow!
It’s Maple Sugar time! So taste that Northern Michigan Gold on pancakes, at the Otsego County Farm Bureau’s pancake breakfast at Stoney Woods Acres, 4292 Shaff Rd in Gaylord, Saturday from 9 until noon. Join them for delicious potato & buttermilk pancakes with sausage and topped with farm fresh maple syrup.
