Bark Crawl, music, theater and a great sale!

weekend-fun-5-spring

This is a weekend full of friends, music, theater and one really great sale. It looks like a sunny weekend, so a perfect time to take it all in. Take a drive, visit some of your favorites, then end the night with some fun!

Start your weekend off with a fun event for the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society. The Bark Crawl is Friday evening April 25, 5-10pm in downtown Petoskey. Party with a purpose and support a great cause… as you and your friends hit up all the participating bars in downtown Petoskey. Check in at the Backlot, get your Bark Crawl Bandana and VIP Pawty Pass. Snag great deals at participating establishments and then meet back at the Backlot for great prizes. Tickets available at LTBHS.org

If you’d prefer something a little more refined, join the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra for their concert, Friday April 25, 7pm,  at St Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey. In the wake of the devastating ice storm, the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra is offering this concert –FREE to the public, as a gift of comfort, healing, and light for the community.  Presented in the breathtaking acoustics of St. Francis Xavier Church in Petoskey, this program promises a deeply moving experience that honor both resilience and renewal. No tickets are necessary. Doors open at 6:30

And there is more music… from the song writers you love! Elton, Billy and Barry… They Write the Songs is Friday night April 25, 7:30 at the City Opera House. Craig A. Meyer wields his voice & piano chops in celebration of the songs of Elton John, Billy Joel & Barry Manilow. Meyer has spent the last 15 years as America’s premiere Elton John tribute artist, & two years touring with Barry Manilow. Tickets at CityOperaHouse.org

And if you’d prefer theater, the Old Town Playhouse presents A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder on Sunday.  When the low-born Monty Navarro finds out that he’s eighth in line for an earldom in the lofty D’Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more ghoulish path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the ninth Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? Because murder isn’t the only thing on Monty’s mind.  Tickets are on sale now at OldTownPlayhouse.com

And if you’d like to do some shopping, it’s the annual Seconds Sale at Sturgeon River Pottery on Saturday and Sunday. This is a weekend full of great deals on beautiful potter, the bumped, bruised, test, and discontinued pottery/items sold to you at a super low price!
